Courtney Force Sets Track Record in Vegas

A three-time champion at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, PEAK Funny Car driver Robert Hight advanced to the NHRA Nationals finals once again. With incremental times of 60ft-0.905 sec., 330ft-2.330, 660ft-3.305/267.16 mph, Hight lost to Alexis Dejoria. This was Hight’s third straight finals appearance in 2014.  Teammate Courtney Force set track records in both elapsed time and speed with her performance of 4.006 at 325.37. Force’s top speed was also the fastest speed for both nitro classes.

PEAK’s Top Alcohol Funny Car driver, Jay Payne, also advanced to the finals where he finished runner up to Nick Januik.


Meanwhile at Martinsville Speedway, PEAK Spokesperson Danica Patrick earned her 2nd-best starting position at P10. Clint Bowyer, started P12 and took the lead with 50 laps to go in the 500-lap race. He appeared in perfect position to earn his first victory of 2014. Ten laps later, a slow pit stop under caution dropped him to P10, out of contention for the win. Bowyer finished 9th, Vickers finished 16th and Patrick finished 32nd.
