Kyle Busch overcame an early wreck during Sunday’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway to win his 54th career cup series event and third of the season. Busch patiently worked his way back through the field and during a caution with 25 laps remaining, chose track position over fresh tires to put him in a position to win.

Busch, along with older brother Kurt, Daniel Suarez, and Paul Menard stayed out to restart first through fourth with 14 laps remaining.  At the finish, Kurt Busch held on for second, followed by a charging Joey Logano in third.  Ryan Blaney and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top five.

PEAK’s Clint Bowyer finished seventh after leading five times for 24 laps.  Bowyer’s bid for victory ended when he and Joey Logano made contact as they battled for second with 60 laps remaining.  The cut tire sent Bowyer into the wall then to pit road for repairs, before battling back to finish seventh.
