Brittany Force Moves into Second Position in the Standings

Brittany Force advanced to the final round in Top Fuel, moving her into second position in the NHRA series standings after this weekend’s event in Atlanta.  Check out all the other race highlights below.


Brittany Force had her second runner-up finish of the season Sunday at the NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway.  Force led teammates Robert Hight, John Force and Austin Prock in eliminations in Atlanta.

After securing the number one qualifying position, Brittany Force strung together four consecutive sub-four-second runs to defeat Cameron Ferre, Antron Brown, and Jordan Vandergriff in route to the final round matchup with Steve Torrence.  It was a clean side-by-side race until Force hazed the tires to cross the finish line at 3.989 seconds to Torrence’s 3.863-second pass.

In Funny Car, number one qualifier Robert Hight defeated Terry Haddock and Paul Lee before coming up short to Tim Wilkerson in the semifinals.  John Force advanced to the second round after defeating Jack Beckman but lost traction against Ron Capps, ending his day in the second round.

In Top Fuel, Austin Prock had an early exit after a solid side-by-side race in the first round with Dom Lagana (3.849 to Lagana’s 3.819) but came up on the losing end.

The John Force Racing team heads to Richmond, Virginia May 17-19 for the Virginia NHRA Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park.


The weather plagued the NASCAR racers and fans in Dover, Delaware over the weekend with the race being postponed until Monday at noon Eastern.


The 2019 FIA Formula One World Championship resumes with the Spanish Grand Prix on May 12th at Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya.


In a spectacular finish Sunday in the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series at the Super Oval Chiapas, Santiago Tovar crossed the finish line just ahead of Rubén García Jr. (who came from 24th on the starting grid) and Jorge Goeters who rounded out the podium.

Michael Dorrbecker dominated the first three-quarters of the race until Rubén García Jr. and Santiago Tovar passed in the closing laps.  With three laps remaining, Tovar took the lead from García and never looked back.

The next race on the 2019 NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series will be held on May 19th at the Guadalajara Autodrome.


Due to rain and thunderstorms, the events at Tazewell Speedway and Florence Speedway have been postponed until Friday, June 28th and Saturday, June 29th.

The Clint Bowyer Racing team resumes on May 16th in Burlington, Iowa.



The next event on the schedule is on Tuesday, May 7th at Kansas Speedway.
