Over the course of NHRA’s 60+ years, 14 women have earned victories in the sanction’s four Pro classes. On Sunday, PEAK driver Courtney Force chalked up her fourth win and the 100th Wally by a female racer. It was her second-straight final round and John Force Racing’s 15-consecutive finals appearance. NHRA heads to Englishtown, N.J. this weekend.
One of the drivers who helped pave the way for Courtney was Shelly Anderson. Anderson, who is now Shelly Payne, wife of PEAK Top Alcohol Funny Car driver Jay Payne, was a winner in the NHRA Top Fuel class and talked about her days in the cockpit in an interview with NHRA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgrUlijNulA&feature=youtu.be
It was a great weekend for PEAK Nation, both on the drag strip and on the dirt oval as Clint Bowyer Racing’s Don O’Neal took his PEAK Late Model to Victory Lane Saturday in Wheatland, Mo., in the Show Me 100. “The Real Deal” padded his points lead with the win.
