John Force Advanced to His 257th Career Final Round
John Force in his BlueDEF PLATINUM Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car advanced to his 257th career final round in Sunday’s NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia.
Coming into race day from the number eleven position, Force took out Cruz Pedregon, Ron Capps and J.R. Todd to advance to his 15th final round appearance at Atlanta Dragway. In the finals, Force came up 0.0038 seconds short of his 152nd career victory after his starting line advantage and 4.015-second pass wasn’t enough to hold off winner Bob Tasca III. With the final round appearance, Force moves to third in the Funny Car season standings.
Brittany Force advanced to the semifinals in Top Fuel after taking out Doug Foley and Josh Hart. In one of the closest races of the day, Force came up short to eventual event winner Antron Brown as her 3.785-second pass wasn’t enough overcome Brown’s starting line advantage and 3.786 second pass. Robert Hight had a rare first-round exit after tire smoke gave Matt Hagan the round win.
The John Force Racing trio will resume competition at zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, North Carolina for the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals May 14-16th.
