Motorsports Monday: John Force Runner-Up

On Sunday, John Force drove to victory in the Traxxas Nitro Shootout and earned $100,000 for the win by defeating teammate and son-in law Robert Hight in the final round.  This was John’s second Traxxas Nitro Shootout victory and is John’s eighth victory in an NHRA all-star bonus event.

PEAK’s Sportsman drivers had a solid weekend as well with Jay Payne winning the Top Alcohol Funny Car class in the debut of his new Camaro Funny Car.  The Top Alcohol Funny Car veteran ran a 5.705 to beat Todd Robertson in the finals. 

Don O’Neal held off point leader Jimmy Owens to win Sunday Night at I-77 Raceway Park in Ripley, West Virginia in his dirt late model claiming $25,000 for the victory.

NASCAR – In Atlanta, mechanical issues drives Clint Bowyer straight to the garage. This misfortune now leads to a must win situation in Richmond for Bowyer to make the Chase.
